Txomin Etxaniz

Txomin Etxaniz is a renowned winery located in Getaria, a historic town in the Basque Country. The winery is dedicated to producing txakoli, a traditional Basque wine, using primarily Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza grape varieties grown in their sixty hectare vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand in early October and undergo a meticulous white vinification process, including pneumatic pressing in an inert atmosphere, controlled temperature fermentation, and aging on lees. The wines are aged to develop their characteristic freshness and acidity, with some varieties undergoing extended aging to enhance complexity with 11% alcohol by volume (ABV).

Txomin Etxaniz txakoli pairs wonderfully with a variety of foods, making it a versatile choice for any meal. Its crisp acidity and fruity notes complement seafood, fish, and white meats. At the same time, the sparkling versions are perfect for starters and light appetizers. With their balanced sweetness, the late harvest wines are also excellent with desserts, particularly foie gras.
